The commercial exploitation of IP and technology at Stellenbosch University is usually affected through one of the following methods:
- outright sale of ownership of the specific IP to a third party;
- licensing of the exploitation rights to a third party;
- the exploitation of the IP in a joint venture with a third party by means of an agreement;
- establishing a spin-out company as affiliate or associate company of InnovUS.
