Making Stellenbosch University Innovation Matter

Innovus is a division of Stellenbosch University that is responsible for technology transfer, entrepreneurial support and development, and innovation. The Technology Transfer Office manages the University’s innovation and intellectual property portfolio through seeking relevant intellectual protection for the universities intellectual property portfolio such as patenting, trademark, design and other forms of protection. The team is also responsible for the management of the portfolio and the commercialisation of innovation through licensing and the formation of spin-out companies.
 
US Enterprises (Pty) Ltd  is a fully owned subsidiary of the university and provides the platform for industry interaction through equity holding in the university start-up group of companies. This is a valuable asset for the university.
 
Through our LaunchLab business incubator, we offer various services to and opportunities for entrepreneurs. Short Courses and Copyright as well as Commercial Services are placed within the Innovus Division.
 
Our website profiles our impressive portfolio of technologies and provides tools and information for inventors wishing to protect and commercialise their ideas, and investors who want to help turn great ideas into reality through licensing our technologies or investing in our start-ups.
