At Innovus Technology Transfer office we pride ourselves to assist our researchers to translate new and innovative research into commercially viable products or services, and to convey scientific and technological research to the market place through commercial opportunities such as licensing or starting a new company.
The Technology Transfer Office derives its mandate from the
No. 51 of 2008: Intellectual Property Rights from Publicly Financed Research and Development Act, 2008. (the “
IPR Act”) which sets as purpose the more effective utilisation of intellectual property emanating from publicly financed research and development. Compliance with the IPR Act is monitored through reporting to the IPR Act established National Intellectual Property Management Office (“
NIPMO)”. In addition, and complimentary to, the IPR Act, the university has its
IP Policy which applies to all creations made at and by the University and its staff and students.
