Where Does Your Invention/ Idea Fit in the Technology Readiness Levels Continuum?

The proposed model (adapted from the commonly used NASA TRL) is aimed at helping researchers and technology transfer professionals alike to contextualise early stage inventions and/ or ideas in terms of their readiness for technology transfer and commercialisation. The model can assist with mapping and tracking the requirements for commercialisation progression towards a “market-ready” innovation. The model assist us in determining what information we need to find and what requirements we need to meet at each TRL as a technology becomes more market-ready.
